I didn’t realize I needed a new knife set until I acquired a new knife set courtesy of Imarku, a Japense-based brand with manuacturing facilties also in Europe and the U.S.
After using these knives consistently for over two months, I can confidently say they've made a significant difference in my kitchen tasks. Each knife boasts exceptional sharpness and specialized designs that make cutting and slicing effortless. Even the included kitchen scissors stand out for their quality. Here’s why I’m impressed.
The knives are crafted from high-carbon Japanese stainless steel and arrived incredibly sharp. You can feel it as soon as you pick them up—just be careful! Their sharpness is especially evident in how smoothly they slice through various ingredients. In comparison to my old chef’s knife, which I relied on for everything, the Imarku blades require minimal effort for precise cuts. My favorite is the 8-inch Chef Knife, which I’ve had to be cautious with to avoid damaging my wooden cutting boards.
The 7-inch Santoku Knife has become my go-to for dicing, while the Paring Knife, serrated Bread Knife, and Boning Knife are regularly in my rotation. The six serrated Steak Knives also glide effortlessly through meat. The knives, entirely of stainless steel (handles included) are lightweight, comfortable to grip and attractive in their shine. All 16 pieces, which includes a sharpener and a handsome black knife block, look sharp (pun intended!) on my kitchen counter.
They are dishwasher friendly, but I wash my Imarku knives by hand as they clean so easily (and this way I can use them again sooner as opposed to later).
The Imarku 16-piece Knife Set is definitely Appetito approved!
